What separates a cinema from a media room
Most people call it a home theater. We build it as a cinema.
A media room has a big television. A cinema is designed from the ground up around the recorded image and the recorded sound. Twenty-plus years of that specific discipline informs every LMC installation.
We design and build acoustically-treated rooms. We integrate reference-tier projection, processing, and speaker systems. We shape the seating, the lighting, and the sight lines so that when the lights dim, the room disappears and the film remains.
The reference brands we install — Trinnov, McIntosh, Kaleidescape, Wilson Audio, Sonus faber, Bassocontinuo — represent the top of every category we touch. But equipment alone does not make a cinema. The room does.
Three dedicated cinema rooms make that discipline visible before you commit to one of your own — the Cinema Suite and the Grand Cinema Suite in Scottsdale, and the Tempe Theater. Walk any of them and you're standing inside a finished example of what we design toward, not a demo loop.

Understand what you watch
We meet you in your space and understand what you watch, how you watch, and what standards matter to you. Every LMC cinema starts here. We ask about seating count, sightline priorities, and whether the room needs to double as anything else — the answers shape everything that follows.

Every dimension considered
Room acoustics, sight lines, lighting, seating, and equipment selection, developed in coordination with your architect and interior designer. We model viewing angles against THX and SMPTE standards, target a specific reverberation time for the room's volume, and settle equipment topology before a single wire is run.

Built by our team
Our in-house team handles every step of the physical build — from acoustic treatment fabrication to projector alignment and speaker calibration. Nothing is subcontracted, so the team specifying your room is the same team building and calibrating it.

A permanent partnership
Twenty years of client relationships means we are still calibrating rooms we built a decade ago. Support is a permanent partnership, not a service call. Rooms are recalibrated on a set cadence, not only when something breaks.

Is a dedicated cinema room right for my house?
If you have a windowless or light-controllable room roughly 15×20 feet or larger, yes — most of what makes a cinema work is acoustic and geometric, not square footage alone. We evaluate the actual room in a consultation before recommending anything.
How long does a full cinema project take, start to finish?
Consultation through final calibration typically runs three to six months, driven mostly by construction and equipment lead times rather than our own schedule.
Can I see a finished LMC cinema before committing?
Yes — the Cinema Suite and Grand Cinema Suite in Scottsdale and the Tempe Theater are working demonstration rooms, not showroom mockups. Walk in or book a time.
