Product Details
The C38 is the horizontal sibling of the P38, and the difference between them is smaller and more interesting than it looks. They share driver technology and are timbre matched, but the MTM planar array is rotated ninety degrees so that dispersion stays correct in the orientation the loudspeaker actually sits in.
That is the detail most horizontal centre channels get wrong. Turning a vertical design on its side narrows the horizontal dispersion exactly where a centre channel needs it widest, which is why so many centres sound correct in one seat and hollow in the next. Rotating the array rather than the cabinet solves it.
Four 6-inch high operating pressure woofers sit alongside, response runs 40 Hz to 20 kHz within 2 dB, and the enclosure is aircraft grade aluminium. Available in-wall as the C38i, on-wall as the C38m and free-standing as the C38, with two amplifier channels and outboard DSP required.
