Product Details
The SA-3 exists because Wisdom's loudspeakers ask for a particular kind of amplification. Three channels, 500 watts each into four ohms with all three driven at once — not the optimistic single-channel figure most multi-channel amplifiers quote — in a chassis two rack units tall.
The efficiency figure is the one worth noticing. Where a conventional amplifier throws away half or more of what it draws from the wall as heat, the SA-series runs at roughly ninety percent. In a sealed, treated cinema that is not an environmental talking point; it is the difference between a rack that needs active cooling and one that does not, and cooling means fans, and fans mean noise in a room built to be silent.
Balanced XLR in, Cardas connectors out, twelve-volt trigger. The SA-3 DSP variant adds digital active crossover, delay, gain and EQ across all three channels along with a Dante input and FIR filtering — which is how Wisdom's line source designs get set up properly, since several of them require an outboard active crossover to work at all.
