Wisdom Audio Insight Series L8i

The L8i is the line source in the Insight Series, and the distinction matters more than the model number suggests. A true line source is not a stack of point-source drivers arranged in a column — it behaves differently, cancelling floor and ceiling reflections rather than adding to them. What you hear is more of the loudspeaker and less of the room.

That makes it the answer in the rooms that defeat conventional in-walls: cathedral or coffered ceilings, hard floors, wide seating. Sensitivity is 91 dB and maximum output is 118 dB at one metre, from a 51.57-inch column that finishes flush into the wall.

Like the rest of the Insight Series it uses a precision passive crossover rather than the fully active architecture of the Sage Series above it, which means one amplifier channel per loudspeaker and a materially simpler installation. Crossover is at 550 Hz, so the planar driver carries everything above that.
