Contact UsWilson’s most-loved floorstander — V-generation refinements to the Sabrina platform; the purest expression of Wilson’s voicing philosophy in a compact form.
Product Details
Sabrina V continues Wilson Audio's most universally loved compact floor-stander into its third generation — the loudspeaker that most often serves as an audiophile's first Wilson. The reason it exists has not changed: to bring Wilson's timing, tonal truth, and cabinet quiet into rooms and systems where an Alexx V or Chronosonic XVX would be architectural overreach.
What the V generation brings is essentially the current Wilson reference program at Sabrina scale. The tweeter is the Convergent Synergy Carbon; the midrange is the 5.75″ QuadraMag alnico; the crossover runs RelCap copper capacitors; and the cabinet debuts H-Material, a new composite formulation introduced on this loudspeaker. A single 8″ paper-composite woofer completes a three-way that reaches 31 Hz to 30 kHz within ±3 dB in-room — from a cabinet under 40 inches tall and 103 pounds per channel.
It is also the most amplifier-friendly loudspeaker in the reference program: 20 watts is the stated minimum, 50 or more the recommendation, and the impedance never falls below 2.53 ohms. That is what opens the door to tube amplification, and both showrooms take the invitation seriously.
In Scottsdale, Sabrina V runs on a pair of Burmester 956 MK2 amplifiers factory-bridged to mono — 500 watts each — with Octave's V 70 SE tube integrated alongside as the alternative, a Linn Selekt LP12 for vinyl and a dCS Bartók APEX for digital. In Tempe it does a different job entirely: the front stage of an all-Wilson surround array with the WASAE centre and four Alida surrounds, behind a McIntosh C2800 vacuum tube preamplifier — a theater that becomes a genuine two-channel system when the film ends. The comparison worth making is one step up, against the Sasha V; both are set up, and the difference is the kind you hear rather than argue about.
