Wilson’s compact powered subwoofer — designed for domestic-scale rooms; the entry point to Wilson’s sub-bass reinforcement lineup.

Description

LōKē is Wilson Audio's most compact subwoofer, developed by the Wilson Audio Special Application Engineering team for the systems the rest of the subwoofer line is too large to join. It embodies the full Wilson low-frequency philosophy — pistonic driver movement, sealed enclosure, no port and therefore no port bloom — at a scale that complements TuneTot and Sabrina V rather than overwhelming them.

The driver is a 10″ high-excursion woofer with Wilson's dual-spider suspension, a geometry that triangulates the cone so it can only move as a piston — no rocking, no flexure, no behavior that smears the handoff to the main loudspeakers. The sealed alignment trades a few hertz of extension for control, which is precisely the right trade in a music system: bass that stops when the note stops.

LōKē requires external amplification through Wilson's ActivXO active crossover, and that is a feature rather than a burden — the crossover point, slope and level are set to the actual main loudspeakers and the actual room, by someone who has done it before. It is the difference between a subwoofer that integrates and a subwoofer you can point to with your eyes closed.

If you are building around TuneTot or Sabrina V, hear the system with and without LōKē switched in — five minutes settles whether the bottom octave matters to your music. It usually does.
