Product Details
The XL PowerIsolator sits between the top-tier OPUS PowerIsolator and the REFERENCE PowerIsolator below it in Transparent’s power-conditioning range. Where REFERENCE gives you eight outlets in four banks (the whole-rack foundation), XL gives you four outlets in two banks — half the capacity, but with enhanced isolation between the two banks and more realizable power transfer per outlet. The trade is deliberate: fewer components on the unit, more of the design’s capability delivered to each one.
The engineering runs on Transparent’s parallel-filter architecture, so amplifiers and other high-demand components receive the full unimpeded power they need without the current restriction that most competing conditioners impose. The chassis is a hybrid extruded-aluminum and non-magnetic thermoformed polymer enclosure — chosen because pure metal shielding tends to constrain electromagnetic-field expansion in ways that subtly flatten dynamics; the hybrid construction promotes freer EM-field behaviour for smoother, more dynamic reproduction. Internal cross-bracing and proprietary epoxy loading damp resonances. Precision-machined isolation feet are adjustable, with soft or hard contact options for hard floors or carpet.
Gigabit network and coaxial surge protection safeguard signal-chain paths beyond the AC line. Physical footprint is compact enough for floor placement under an amplifier or two units side-by-side on a source-component shelf — 11.65” × 9.15” × 4.26”, 17 lb. The included XL Power Cord ships matched to the unit and is upgradeable to the OPUS Power Cord for further refinement.
The XL PowerIsolator is the right unit for systems approaching reference class where the buyer wants concentrated power delivery to a few high-demand components — an amplifier plus one or two sources, or a monoblock pair on their own dedicated banks. Handcrafted in Saco, Maine. Available on order at LMC Scottsdale — walk in during business hours or book ahead if the audition needs an XL-vs-REFERENCE comparison for your specific system layout.
