Product Details
The Ultra Gen 6 Loom is a full-system Transparent cable package — the LIFELIKE-tier interconnects, speaker cables, and power cords assembled and calibrated as a unified whole rather than piece-by-piece. “Gen 6” refers to the sixth-generation revision of Transparent’s Network Technology, which is what the entire current Ultra range uses. The loom concept exists because Transparent’s networks are calibrated relationally: an interconnect’s network sees the source and preamp on one side and the amplifier on the other; the speaker cable’s network sees the amplifier and speaker. Matching every cable in the chain to the same generation of network technology means those calibration relationships hold end-to-end rather than being defeated by mixing generations.
A Transparent loom is a design contract, not just a bulk-purchase discount. When Transparent builds a full Ultra Gen 6 loom for a specific system, they know the source, preamp, amplifier, and speaker at both ends of every cable and can calibrate the networks with those actual components in mind. That’s a different level of matching than buying an Ultra RCA today and an Ultra Speaker Cable a year later against unspecified companion components. Networks are calibrated to work together across the system, and the loom’s network relationships are what the system actually hears.
The Ultra Gen 6 Loom is designed for systems where the entire electronics and speaker chain has moved into the resolving-separates or reference-approaching tier — where component-tier decisions are settled and cabling shouldn’t be the bottleneck the system hits. It sits above the AUTHENTIC (Plus) and REALISTIC (Super) collections and below the ULTIMATE (Reference and XL) and TRANSCENDENT (Opus and Magnum Opus) collections. The loom is priced and configured per system: specific cable lengths, terminations, and power-cord IEC/plug options are built to the system it will serve.
A full loom is meaningfully different from equivalent-tier cables assembled ad hoc — but the price and configuration only make sense in the context of the specific system it will serve, which is why the Ultra Gen 6 Loom lives as an inquiry item rather than a shelf-price product. Contact LMC to specify the source, preamp, amplifier, speakers, and physical placement, and we’ll put together the loom quote against the actual system it will end up in. Both Scottsdale and Tempe carry Ultra-tier reference cables for the audition ahead of the loom order.
Full-system Transparent cable package — not a single cable, a matched loom
LIFELIKE collection (Ultra tier), current Gen 6 revision
Interconnects (RCA and/or Balanced), Speaker Cables, and Power Cords — configured to match the source, preamp, amplifier, and speakers the loom will serve
Above AUTHENTIC (Plus) and REALISTIC (Super) collections; below ULTIMATE (Reference, XL) and TRANSCENDENT (Opus, Magnum Opus)
System-wide network calibration — every cable’s network built with the actual companion components in mind
Handcrafted in Saco, Maine
Multi-cable loom, built to specification for a specific system
Any combination of Ultra RCA, Ultra Balanced, Ultra Speaker Cable, Ultra Phono, Ultra Power Cord, and Ultra digital cables as the system requires
Each cable’s Gen 6 network calibrated to the source, preamp, amplifier, and speakers in the specific system it will serve — not to generalized impedances
Specify source, preamp, amplifier, speakers, physical layout (rack, room distances), and any specific length or termination requirements
Any component cable is upgradeable to Reference, XL, Opus, or Magnum Opus tier through Transparent’s Upgrade Program, with original investment retained
Handcrafted in Saco, Maine, USA
Limited warranty on each cable; registration extends to limited lifetime and entitles owner to free network recalibrations if component changes require them
