The PowerWave X is the higher-tier PowerWave — a substantial step above PowerWave in filter-network sophistication and power-delivery capability, and the bridge between the PowerWave family and the PowerIsolator hierarchy above it. This is where a listener stops thinking about PowerWave as “conditioning + protection” and starts thinking about it as the next-tier infrastructure that could later be upgraded directly to REFERENCE, XL, or OPUS PowerIsolator.

The chassis is custom extruded aluminum — the same electromagnetic-field-expansion advantage over steel-plate enclosures the PowerWave family has always offered, but scaled up for the higher outlet count. Ten high-current surge-protected US outlets sit in five isolated banks (eight switched + two unswitched), with avalanche-diode surge protection on every outlet: response is instantaneous, and the diode never wears out after a surge event. The internal filter network is refined compared to PowerWave — higher-resolution component chains hear the improvement most.

A star-grounding system holds every outlet at identical ground potential. Coaxial and gigabit-network source surge protectors safeguard signal-chain paths beyond the AC line. The 3-rack-space robust chassis is 17.25” × 13” × 5.75”, 32 lb. The Transparent Performance Power Cord is included; the unit is compatible with all Transparent power-cord tiers.
