Product Details
The OPUS PowerIsolator is the top of Transparent’s power-conditioning hierarchy — a two-outlet chassis engineered for one high-resolution component on its own dedicated AC circuit. There is no upgrade path above it. It is the AC-power reference at the top of a reference-tier system.
The engineering decision at its centre is Transparent’s Generation 5 Power Conditioning Filter Technology — the culmination of roughly twenty-three years of Transparent’s technical development, materials research, and critical listening. Most power conditioners reduce some AC noise but also restrict instantaneous current and shift the phase of the power signal, subtly changing tonal balance. The parallel noise filtering circuit inside OPUS does neither: it snuffs out broadband AC line noise without restricting current or introducing phase shift. A parallel hydraulic-magnetic circuit breaker provides failsafe overcurrent protection without limiting current. Ideal power factor correction runs alongside.
Each OPUS filter circuit is painstakingly constructed with multi-step measurements and circuit adjustments, and is calibrated to the filter characteristics of the included OPUS Power Cord AND to the end user’s local AC voltage and frequency. Physically, the chassis is a non-magnetic, epoxy-loaded, fully damped carbon-fibre carapace — chosen to let electromagnetic fields expand fully without the shielding-induced coloration a steel-plate enclosure introduces. The centre of gravity is low and wide, dissipating excess energy broadly away from the filter circuitry. Precision-machined isolation feet, adjustable for hard or carpeted surfaces, keep the unit decoupled from floor vibrations. 12.91” × 10.2” × 4.71”, 17 lb, with a 2 m detachable 20 A IEC OPUS Power Cord included.
The OPUS PowerIsolator is Transparent’s reference infrastructure — for systems where source, preamp, and amplification are already reference-class, and the buyer is now optimising the AC that feeds them. Handcrafted in Saco, Maine. Available on order at LMC Scottsdale — walk in during business hours or book ahead if the audition needs a stacked-OPI configuration heard on your reference system.
