Sonus faber Vox Center Channel Loudspeaker

Vox is the centre-channel loudspeaker of Sonus faber's Homage Collection — a 3-way horizontal cabinet built specifically to sit under or above a screen and voice-match the Homage floorstanders alongside it. In a multi-channel system anchored on Amati, Serafino or Guarneri, the centre channel does most of the work in a film: dialogue, on-screen effects, and much of the score. Voxing that content on a loudspeaker of the same lineage as the mains is the point of the exercise.

The system is 3-way — a 28 mm neodymium DAD 'Arrow Point' tweeter, two 150 mm neodymium midranges flanking it, and two 180 mm woofers in the vented-box Stealth Ultraflex system — arrayed horizontally in a midrange-sealed cabinet with Intono. Crossover points sit at 280 and 2,100 Hz through a Phase Coherent Level 3 network built to the same specification as the Homage floorstanders. Sensitivity is 90 dB at 4 ohms nominal, with 50 to 300 watts of undistorted amplification.

Frequency response runs from 40 Hz to 35 kHz — wider than a conventional centre channel because the driver complement is closer to a floorstander laid on its side than a compact centre-channel cabinet. Cabinet dimensions are 315 mm high by 836 mm wide by 385 mm deep, at 37 kilograms.

Available in Red, Graphite or Wenge high gloss with Italian leather, matching the Homage floorstander finishes so a Homage-anchored 5.1 or 7.1 system reads visually as a set.
