Sonus faber Serafino G2

Serafino G2 is the second-generation Homage Collection floorstander, paying tribute to Santo Serafino — the eighteenth-century Venetian luthier who masterfully built violins with matching beauty and sound. Where Amati G5 is Homage's full-scale flagship, Serafino delivers the same collection technology in a relatively more compact form — much like a finely crafted violin against a full-size cello.

Crafted like a fine instrument, Serafino draws inspiration from the artisanship of Santo Serafino. Its rounded cabinet design mirrors the graceful curves of a violin, enhancing both visual allure and acoustic purity by reducing internal resonances. Handcrafted at Sonus faber's Vicenza factory, each Serafino seamlessly melds nine layers of natural wood — carefully paired according to grain — and culminates with nine meticulous lacquer coats.

The 3.5-way system pairs a 28 mm DAD 'Arrow Point' tweeter and 150 mm neodymium midrange — the midrange in a sealed box with Intono technology — with two 180 mm woofers in the vented-box Stealth Ultraflex system, upgraded in G2 with a new voice coil and spider material for greater air movement and bass extension. Crossover points sit at 200, 250, and 2,400 Hz through a Phase Coherent Level 3 network. Sensitivity 90 dB, frequency response 30 Hz – 35 kHz, with recommended amplification of 50 to 300 watts.
