Sonus faber Guarneri G5

Guarneri G5 is the fifth-generation Homage bookshelf loudspeaker, paying tribute to Giuseppe Guarneri — the Italian luthier of the Golden Age of violin making. Notably, the original 1993 Guarneri was Sonus faber's first high-fidelity speaker with a cabinet structure inspired by the lute, making it the design that defined the Sonus faber shape now recognized worldwide. Every generation since has advanced the technology while preserving the aesthetic.

The fifth generation introduces a groundbreaking new midwoofer that reduces resonance and delivers nuanced acoustic detail. New crossover technology lowers the noise floor and eliminates background noise, delivering three-dimensional sound with the timing and layers of a live performance. The lute-shape cabinet serves both aesthetic and acoustic purposes: reducing internal resonances for a refined and natural sound while enhancing rigidity for optimized acoustic performance.

The 2-way vented-box Stealth Ultraflex system pairs the 28 mm DAD 'Arrow Point' tweeter with a 150 mm neodymium midwoofer, crossed at 2,200 Hz through a Phase Coherent Level 3 network. Sensitivity 86 dB, frequency response 40 Hz – 35 kHz — remarkable extension for a bookshelf loudspeaker of this footprint — with recommended amplification of 30 to 125 watts.
