Sonus faber Olympica Nova CII

Olympica Nova CII is the larger of two centre-channel loudspeakers in Sonus faber's Olympica Nova line — a 3-way horizontal design engineered to voice-match the Nova III and Nova V floorstanders in a multi-channel system. Where CI (below) is a 2-way for smaller front stages, CII carries the fuller driver complement suited to systems where the mains are already substantial.

The system is 3-way: an H28 XTR3 tweeter with neodymium 'cup design' motor and DAD, an M15 XTR2-08 150 mm midrange, and a W18XTR2-08 180 mm woofer arranged horizontally in a vented-box Stealth Ultraflex cabinet. Crossover points sit at 250 Hz and 1,550 Hz — a slightly different crossover geometry from the Nova floorstanders because the horizontal driver arrangement requires it.

Frequency response runs from 35 Hz to 35 kHz with the Stealth reflex included, at 90 dB sensitivity into 4 ohms. Recommended amplification is 50 to 300 watts without clipping. The cabinet is 278 mm high by 866 mm wide by 459 mm deep, at 29 kilograms per unit — substantial for a centre channel because centre-channel performance is what most systems compromise on and Sonus faber does not.
