Sonus faber Maxima Amator

Maxima Amator is the floorstanding loudspeaker of Sonus faber's Heritage Collection — the range built on solid wood cabinets, brass and marble accents, and a top-end driver shared across every model in the line. Where the Homage Collection references specific Italian luthiers, and where Electa Amator III and Minima Amator (predecessor generations) anchor the Heritage bookshelf tier, Maxima Amator carries the Heritage design language into a full-scale floorstander.

The 2-way vented cabinet pairs the H28 XTR-04 Damped Apex Dome (DAD) 1.1-inch fabric tweeter — the same tweeter used across the Heritage Collection — with a 180 mm MW18 XTR-04 midwoofer engineered specifically for this cabinet. The two-way configuration crosses over at 2,100 Hz through a Phase Coherent network of premium high-end components. Sensitivity is 88 dB SPL at 4 ohms, frequency response 35 Hz to 35 kHz, with recommended amplification of 25 to 125 watts.

The Heritage material discipline is what distinguishes this loudspeaker from the rest of the Sonus faber range: solid walnut wood exterior with a semi-gloss protective lacquer, brass accents at the base, and Italian leather details. A Port Saint Laurent marble base option is available. This is a loudspeaker built like a piece of furniture from a joinery workshop, not a loudspeaker cabinet finished to look like furniture. Each speaker stands 1,120 mm tall at 38 kilograms. Available in solid walnut semi-gloss with black leather, Port Saint Laurent marble base and brass detailing.
