Sonus faber Lilium

Lilium is a harmony of opposites — designed to synthesize opposing acoustic elements while maintaining each one's independent nature. The loudspeaker unites two cabinets into a unique fusion of style and technology: a lyre-shaped front cabinet for forward sound emission, and a separate rear cabinet dedicated to infra-low frequencies. This dual-cabinet architecture captures Sonus faber's heritage while introducing groundbreaking innovations from the R&D team in Vicenza.

The lyre-shaped front cabinet, built for forward sound emission, ensures structural strength and efficient energy management. The rear cabinet, designed for infra-low frequencies, eliminates resonance with strategic reinforcements. The two use different materials — finely-grained hard walnut wood for the front and soft leather for the rear — a design that visually reinforces the duality of the speaker's engineering philosophy.

The 3.5-way system pairs an orthogonal non-interactive dual enclosure — para-aperiodic vented box 'Stealth Reflex System' on the main enclosure, passive radiator tuned with 'Zero Vibration Transmission' on the subwoofer enclosure, modulation-free and decoupled at 90° from the main. The driver array: the 28 mm H28 XTR-04 DAD 'Damped Apex Dome' tweeter — a Sonus faber innovation developed in Vicenza — a 180 mm M18 XTR-04 cellulose midrange with neodymium motor, three 180 mm W18XTR-16 woofers, and a 260 mm SW26XT-08 infra-woofer working against a tuned passive radiator in the rear enclosure. Crossover points sit at 55, 150, 200, and 3,000 Hz; the system reaches 20 Hz at 92 dB sensitivity and accepts 100 to 800 watts of undistorted power. Deep Low Control on the rear panel allows the infra-bass level and damping to be adjusted for the room and listener preference.
