The MBL 101 X-Treme MKIII is MBL's absolute statement loudspeaker - a multi-tower Radialstrahler system that fills a room with 360-degree omnidirectional sound reproduction unlike anything conventional cone speakers can achieve. Four towers (a stereo pair of vertical Radialstrahler arrays plus a stereo pair of massive subwoofer towers) work in concert to reproduce the full spectrum of live musical performance with the acoustic authority of a concert venue.
MBL's patented Radialstrahler drivers use precisely-tensioned aluminium petals arranged in a spherical geometry. As the driver flexes, it radiates sound outward in every horizontal direction simultaneously. The result is a stereo image that fills the entire listening space rather than a narrow sweet spot; multiple listeners hear the same performance from any seat in the room. The MKIII refresh incorporates MBL's latest Radialstrahler tensioning, updated crossover, and refined subwoofer integration.
A complete Reference Line system built around the 101 X-Treme MKIII (four 9011 monoblocks + 6010 D preamp + 1611 F DAC + 1621 A CD transport) represents the pinnacle of what MBL has to offer in home audio.
