Kimber PK14 Palladian

PK14 Palladian is Kimber’s Summit series power cord in the smaller of two available gauges, purpose-built for the source components where current draw is modest but noise rejection and signal-path consistency matter most — DACs, transports, streamers, preamplifiers, and phono stages. Fourteen-gauge pure copper conductors, rated to exceed a typical 15-amp outlet, in Kimber’s woven geometry.

What earns the Palladian name is the WattGate connector choice. Kimber manufactures the WattGate line, and the Palladian PowerKords are terminated with the top of that range — WattGate 330 AU EVO gold-plated at the wall and WattGate 350 AU EVO gold-plated at the component IEC. These are cryogenically-treated, mass-loaded connectors with an internal geometry engineered specifically for audio use rather than industrial mains connection, and they sit two full tiers above the WattGate Evolution connectors used on Kimber’s base PK series.

The reason to buy Palladian for a source component rather than one of the base PK versions or the Ascent tier is straightforward — the mains connection is where noise enters the system, and the source is where that noise has the longest signal path to travel through. A power cord on a source component is measurable and audible in a way that many other choices are not, and Palladian is where the treatment stops being a compromise. Neutral-colored virgin dielectric between the conductors, and a braid geometry that rejects RFI without shielded foil.

PK14 Palladian is the correct source-component match for the larger PK10 Palladian on the amplifier — Kimber’s canonical two-cable power strategy for a reference-tier system, with the two gauges deliberately matched to the current demands of what they connect.
