Product Details
Njord is the projector Barco specifies when the room will not cooperate — large screens, glass walls, outdoor entertainment spaces, the conditions where a conventional home cinema projector simply runs out of light. It produces up to 12,500 lumens from a blue laser phosphor engine of Barco's own design, and output is adjustable down to 4,000 lumens through a feature-on-demand licence, so one chassis covers both a dark dedicated theatre and a west-facing great room.
Resolution is 4K UHD through a three-chip DLP engine, with a DCI/P3 colour gamut from custom-selected lasers and 95 percent image uniformity — a measured improvement over the previous generation rather than a claim about it. DynaBlack analyses each frame and adjusts contrast for dark and bright scenes as they arrive. Warp to Center switches aspect ratios instantly within the 16:9 chassis, removing the lens-memory delay that turns a format change into an event. Processing lag stays under 20 milliseconds with image processing active.
A Cinemascope version is offered at native 5,120 x 2,160 and 9,000 lumens, filling a 2.39:1 screen without an anamorphic lens and without scaling. Which of the two belongs in a given room depends on screen shape, gain and how much control the space has over ambient light — a conversation rather than a spec sheet decision.
