Product Details

Description

Heimdall is Barco Residential's first single-chip native 4K projector, and it exists to put an RGB laser light engine and a full Rec. 2020 colour gamut into a chassis that is compact and quiet enough for a media room rather than a machine room. Heimdall delivers 4,500 lumens; Heimdall+ delivers 6,000 for larger screens.

The RGB laser engine is rated at 25,000 hours at full power, and the design is entirely solid state — no moving parts, which is where projector reliability is usually lost. HDMI 2.1 carries frame rates to 120 Hz, so the same projector that handles a 4K HDR film handles high-framerate gaming without a compromise in the signal chain. Single Step Processing provides geometry correction, warping and blending in one pass.

Cinemascope versions of both models are available for dedicated 2.39:1 rooms, and multiple lens options cover the throw distances a real installation presents. Between Heimdall and Heimdall+ the deciding factor is screen size and ambient light rather than any difference in colour or resolution.
