Description
Freya is built on the same Series 4 platform Barco supplies to commercial cinemas, scaled for a dedicated home theatre rather than an auditorium. Native 4K DLP at 4,096 x 2,160, solid state RGB laser, and between 7,500 and 13,500 lumens depending on which model in the series the room calls for.
Like Nerthus it carries a Barco Alchemy ICMP-X media server and is DCI compliant, so Digital Cinema Packages play natively with the supporting equipment. Color runs to the Rec. 2020 gamut with the enhanced contrast the Cinema at Home series is built around.
Two versions are offered — Freya MkII SST and Freya+ SST — differing in light output. Which one belongs in a given room depends on screen size, gain and how much control the space has over ambient light, which is a conversation rather than a spec sheet decision.
