Description
The L100 uses the same planar magnetic line source technology as the L75 and L150 at a more compact 50 inches, with an array of eight high operating pressure woofers behind it. Response runs 40 Hz to 20 kHz within 2 dB at 95 dB sensitivity.
Each channel is a two-cabinet system — the planar column and the woofer column installed adjacent to each other, within four or five inches, flanking a stud in an in-wall job. That is worth knowing at the framing stage rather than at the trim stage, because it changes what the wall has to accommodate.
At 50 inches it hides completely behind acoustically transparent screens, including the 2.35:1 formats a dedicated cinema is usually built around. It needs an SC-2 or SC-3 for DSP and outboard crossovers and three channels of amplification, which is the Sage Series trade: more system to design, and performance the passive alternatives cannot reach.
