Wilson Audio Subsonic

The Wilson Audio Subsonic is the fraternal twin of the WAMM Master Subsonic — the same drivers, the same internal volume, differing only in finish presentation. It is the subwoofer Wilson builds when the brief is the bottom octave without qualification, for reference systems whose main loudspeakers already do almost everything else.

The design philosophy is deliberately uncompromising. Where most subwoofer manufacturers attempt to bend physics with undersized enclosures and DSP correction, the Subsonic simply provides the displacement and the enclosure volume the job actually requires — a sealed alignment, pistonic driver control, and no port artifacts to smear what arrives. Nothing about it is clever in the marketing sense; all of it is correct in the engineering sense.

The Scottsdale flagship rooms say what tier this is. A Subsonic pair runs beneath the Chronosonic XVX within a Burmester Reference Line chain — a system whose mains already reach prodigiously low, so the Subsonics exist to take the last octave with the same authority as everything above it.
