Product Details
The Amethyst is what happens when Trinnov points its home theatre engineering at a two-channel system. It is a preamplifier, a 24 bit / 192 kHz DAC, a network renderer and a phono stage in one chassis — and underneath all of it, the same Optimizer room correction that runs in the Altitude processors, calibrated with the same 3D microphone.
That is the unusual part. Most two-channel preamplifiers treat the room as somebody else's problem. The Amethyst measures it, corrects loudspeaker and room response together, and offers five preset acoustic profiles plus 29 memory slots for settings tuned to a particular system or a particular kind of listening.
The active crossover engine extends that further: a bi-amplified loudspeaker system, or a 2.1 or 2.2 configuration where the subwoofers are integrated by measurement rather than by ear and a dial. Twelve inputs cover balanced, unbalanced, digital and phono sources, and it is Roon Ready.
