Product Details

Description

The Altitude32 has been the reference immersive processor since 2014, and it has stayed there for a structural reason rather than a sonic one. Every competing processor runs banks of fixed DSP chips; the Altitude32 runs a multi-core Intel processor under TrinnovOS. New formats arrive as software.

That is why it decoded Dolby Atmos Home at its full 24.x.10 channel count in 2015, years ahead of anyone else, and remains the only processor that does. It is why DTS:X Pro arrived here a year before competitors, at the full 30.2 count. Auro-3D to 13.1, IMAX Enhanced and Roon are all present. Owners have received four extra channels and successive major feature releases without paying for hardware.

Underneath the format support sits the work Trinnov began in professional audio. The Optimizer corrects loudspeaker and room response together rather than applying equalization to a measured curve, and Remapping — patented, driven by a four-capsule 3D microphone — measures where each loudspeaker actually is and steers sound elements to where the mixer intended, using adjacent speakers and stereo imaging. In a real room where the ceiling joists decided the height channel positions, that is the difference between an approximation and a correct rendering.

Bass management is equally deep: any channel's low frequencies to any combination of subwoofers, with no limit beyond available outputs, plus an intermediate stage that hands bass from a small height speaker to a more capable neighbour before it reaches the subs. Eight HDMI 2.1 inputs at 40 Gbps handle 4K 120 and 8K 60 with Dolby Vision. Five-year transferable warranty, and remote access from Trinnov's own servers for calibration and diagnosis without a site visit.
