Where Transparent’s TRANSCENDENT collection begins — the outrigger network on a PMMA-and-IFER platform, calibrated to your amplifier and loudspeakers.

Product Details

Description

The Opus Speaker Cable is the amplifier-to-speaker link where Transparent’s TRANSCENDENT collection begins — the tier the outrigger network module and PMMA-and-IFER platform were originally engineered for. Opus Speaker Cable was Transparent’s flagship speaker cable until Magnum Opus Speaker Cable was designed to surpass it, and it remains the cable most owners of reference-class systems arrive at when the amp and speakers are both resolving enough that XL-tier cable-to-network matching has become the limiting element. The Gen 6 refresh kept the iconic architecture and rebuilt the platform to be thicker, stiffer, heavier, and more stable than earlier Opus generations.

The carbon-fiber network carapace fills every void with IFER (Integrated Flexible Epoxy Resin) and sits on a Gen 6 platform where PMMA (acrylic) layers sandwich a 3/16-inch carbon-fiber plate embedded in an IFER-filled cavity, joined to the carapace by a thin thermoplastic sound-damping laminate, with fasteners bored deeply into the IFER mass at a specific torque. Network components are chosen and matched more closely than XL to the electrical characteristics of the cable itself and its exact length, and the network is calibrated more precisely to both the electrical output of the specific amplifier AND the impedance and reactance curve of the specific speakers. Custom-machined gold-plated tellurium copper spade or banana terminations transfer current through heavy precision-wound OFHC stranding, with terminations customized to your speaker posts.

Opus Speaker Cable is designed for systems where the amplifier and speakers are already reference-class and cable-level precision in network calibration to the specific pairing has become the limiting element on what the room can reveal. Because the network is calibrated to a specific amp/speaker pairing, Transparent needs both ends before manufacture. Level-matched TRANSCENDENT companions include Opus RCA, Opus Balanced, Opus Phono, Opus Power Cord, and Opus Power Cord Source. Fully upgradeable to Magnum Opus Speaker Cable through Transparent’s Upgrade Program, with original investment retained. Warranty registration extends to lifetime and entitles owners to free network recalibration when a system change requires it.

Speaker cables at the Opus tier reveal their difference over XL in the specific room, with the specific amp and speakers — that’s where the outrigger architecture and PMMA-carbon-fiber-IFER platform stop being an abstract spec sheet and start being audible on familiar recordings. Walk in during business hours or book ahead if the audition needs the actual system in place and the room settled.
