Product Details
The Reference Power Cord is the entry point into Transparent’s ULTIMATE collection — also called the CONNOISSEUR collection in Transparent’s current branding — on the power side of the system. Its noise-reduction network is calibrated to the exact length of the cable and its inherent electrical properties, the same custom-per-length principle Transparent applies to its interconnects and speaker cables, adapted here for AC power delivery. It sits above Transparent’s Premium Power Cord as a significant step up in noise-reduction network performance rather than just a heavier gauge of copper.
Tightly constructed OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) power cable technology holds every element of the cable package firmly in place and preserves the intended electrical properties across the run. The noise-reduction network is encased in a sleek, epoxy resin-filled carbon fiber composite module that reduces the effects of vibration and resonance on the network components inside. Termination technology is proprietary and handcrafted; IEC and AC plug orientation is customized per order to fit the actual rack layout the cord will live in, so the fit stays reliable and the strain-relief works as intended.
Reference Power Cord is designed for systems being built toward connoisseur tier — resolving source components, preamplification, and amplification where AC-line contamination becomes clearly audible in the noise floor and the leading edge of transients. Level-matched ULTIMATE companions include Reference RCA, Reference Balanced, Reference Speaker Cable, Reference Phono, and the Reference PowerIsolator. Fully upgradeable to XL or Opus Power Cord through Transparent’s Upgrade Program, with original investment retained. Warranty registration extends the standard limited warranty to lifetime for the original owner.
Power cords audition best in the actual system, at the actual rack, with the component they’ll feed — the difference between a length-calibrated Reference cord and a generic power cable often shows up as a lower noise floor and cleaner leading edges rather than a tone-shift, and that’s a change that takes a familiar recording to hear clearly. Walk in during business hours or book ahead if the audition is a comparison against the current power cord and the system needs to be listened to in a settled state.
