Sony BRAVIA Projector 7

The BRAVIA Projector 7 is the entry into Sony's native 4K SXRD line, and the word that matters there is native. At 2,200 lumens it is the least bright of the range, but the imaging system is the same three-panel SXRD architecture used all the way up to the GTZ380 — every pixel is a real pixel, produced by a reflective liquid crystal panel rather than shifted into place by a moving mirror.

It carries the XR Processor developed for Sony's reference televisions and adapted for projection, so the tone mapping and black level handling that distinguish the models above it are present here too.

2,200 lumens asks for a room with real light control and a screen sized to suit. In that room it is a genuinely reference-capable projector rather than a compromise, which is the reason Sony's entry model has held its position in the market as long as it has.
