Sonus faber Sonetto II G2

Sonetto II G2 is the larger of two bookshelf loudspeakers in Sonus faber's second-generation Sonetto Collection — sitting above Sonetto I G2 and below the Sonetto III G2 floorstander. It is the bookshelf choice when you want deeper bass and more room-filling output without moving to a floorstander, and it is the loudspeaker most naturally paired with a Sonetto G2 Center in a compact 5.1 system.

The 2-way system pairs a 1.1-inch DAD (Damped Apex Dome) silk soft dome tweeter — the same tweeter used across the entire Sonetto G2 range, extending response beyond 30 kHz through a DAD-with-copper-cup design — with a 6.5-inch paper pulp sandwich midwoofer engineered specifically for this cabinet. The midwoofer surround uses the flower-pattern rubber design derived from Suprema's Camelia midrange.

Sonetto II G2 borrows the Intono technology from Sonus faber's Amati and Serafino Homage loudspeakers: a hybrid sealed/vented cabinet configuration that keeps the low-frequency behaviour of a sealed enclosure — no port bloom, no impedance spike — while retaining the efficiency and output of a vented design. The front-firing port makes the cabinet placement-tolerant, including near or against a rear wall, which matters for a bookshelf loudspeaker that will actually live in a bookshelf.

Sensitivity is 87 dB into 4 ohms with recommended amplification of 30 to 200 watts. Frequency response reaches 42 Hz at the low end, extending to beyond 40 kHz at the top. Available in Black, Walnut or Wenge open-pore fine wood finish with hand-applied Italian leather accents. Dedicated Sonetto Stand G2 available separately.
