Sonus faber Sonetto G2 Center

The Sonetto G2 Center is the centre-channel loudspeaker of Sonus faber's second-generation Sonetto Collection — a 3-way horizontal design that carries the Camelia midrange and cork-chamber technology from Suprema into the range's centre-channel position. Where a smaller centre would use a simpler driver complement, this centre commits the full Suprema-derived acoustic engineering to dialogue reproduction, which is the channel most film soundtracks depend on.

The 3-way system pairs a 1.1-inch DAD (Damped Apex Dome) silk soft dome tweeter with a 4-inch Camelia midrange — the same white-paper multilobed cone geometry first developed for Suprema, unpainted for what Sonus faber calls sound purity — and two 6.5-inch paper pulp sandwich woofers. The midrange sits in a cork inner chamber whose organic shape and cork lining reduce standing waves and internal reflections that would otherwise re-enter the driver from behind.

Voice-matching to Sonetto V G2 and Sonetto VIII G2 is the point: dialogue crossing between the mains and the centre — a football pass in a sports mix, a character walking off-screen in a film — should not change tonal character on the way. Building the centre around the same Camelia midrange as the mains is what makes that possible.

Recommended amplification is 50 to 300 watts. Available in Black, Walnut or Wenge open-pore fine wood finish with hand-applied Italian leather accents. Dedicated centre-channel stand available separately.
