Sonus faber Palladio PC 662

PC 662 is the standard 2-way round in-ceiling loudspeaker of the Palladio Level 6 Collection — the workhorse of the Level 6 in-ceiling range, designed for whole-home distributed audio in high-end residences where the visual impact of a cabinet loudspeaker is not acceptable but the acoustic quality of a cabinet loudspeaker is still a requirement. Level 6 shares its design language with the Olympica Nova Collection, which is what distinguishes it from the Sonetto-derived Level 5.

The driver complement is a 29 mm DAD (Damped Apex Dome) silk soft dome tweeter and a 6.5-inch paper-cone midwoofer with natural fibre and cellulose pulp blend, mounted in a custom Sonus faber basket. Voice of Sonus faber leather detailing frames the tweeter. Loading is infinite baffle — the ceiling cavity behind the loudspeaker acts as the enclosure, which is why an optional pre-mount kit is available for new-construction installations to define the cavity precisely. Frame outer is 234 mm diameter at 115 mm mounting depth. Magnetic edgeless round metal grille, ready to be painted; optional square magnetic grille available. Swing-out dogs plasterboard fixing. Handcrafted in Vicenza.
