Sonus faber Lumina III

Lumina III is the mid-tier floorstander of Sonus faber's Lumina Collection — a 3-way vented-box design that sits between the flagship Lumina V and the Lumina II bookshelf. It was one of the three original Lumina models when the collection launched in September 2020, and it remains the loudspeaker most people meet the Lumina line through: a full-scale floorstander at an accessible price with the driver technology Sonus faber uses further up its catalogue.

The 3-way system pairs a 29 mm DAD (Damped Apex Dome) silk soft dome tweeter — developed with Kurt Müller and shared across the entire Lumina range — with a 150 mm paper-cone midrange derived from the Sonetto line, and two 150 mm paper-cone woofers designed specifically for this cabinet. Crossover points sit at 350 Hz and 3.5 kHz through a Hybrid IFF Paracross topology with Sonus faber-branded capacitors.

The port fires downward through a fixed plinth, which is what allows the cabinet to sit against a rear wall or in a real room without the placement penalty a rear-ported floorstander would impose. Frequency response is 40 Hz to 24 kHz at 89 dB sensitivity into 4 ohms, with recommended amplification of 50 to 250 watts. Each cabinet stands 985 mm tall and comes in Black, Wenge or Walnut real-wood veneer with the Lumina line's leather-wrapped side and top surfaces.
