Product Details
Lumina II Amator is the Amator edition of Sonus faber's Lumina II bookshelf — same driver complement as the standard Lumina II, but with a revised crossover that raises the tweeter transition 800 Hz higher, a resulting 3 dB sensitivity increase, and the 45°-angle wood-veneer front baffle that identifies the Lumina Amator line as distinct from the standard Lumina range.
The drivers are the standard Lumina II's: a 29 mm DAD (Damped Apex Dome) silk soft dome tweeter, hand-coated by Kurt Müller, and a 150 mm paper-cone midwoofer with cellulose pulp and natural-fibre blend. The crossover, however, moves the tweeter transition from 1,800 Hz to 2,600 Hz — an 800 Hz shift that widens the midwoofer's operating range and gives the Amator a more coherent midband than the standard model. Sensitivity rises to 89 dB into 4 ohms as a result.
The cabinet is front-ported for placement tolerance — usable near or against a rear wall, and inside a bookshelf, both of which are how a bookshelf loudspeaker actually gets used in a real room. Finished in Glossy Red, Wenge or Walnut wood veneer at a 45° grain orientation with the Lumina leather-wrapped surrounds. A natural pairing with a Gravis subwoofer for extended low-frequency performance.
