Sonus faber Duetto

Duetto is Sonus faber's active wireless stereo speaker pair — launched in October 2023 as the first commercial speaker system to use Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology as the link between the left and right cabinets. UWB does what WiFi and Bluetooth cannot: sub-millisecond latency, interference-free at close range, and enough bandwidth to carry uncompressed stereo without a wired connection between the two speakers.

Each cabinet carries a 0.7-inch silk dome tweeter with a copper cap and waveguide ring, and a 5.25-inch paper-pulp midwoofer with neodymium magnet mounted in Sonus faber's new Organic Basket — a basket geometry designed to reduce internal resonance and ease airflow around a long-throw driver. Amplification is discrete per driver: a 100 W Class AB stage for the tweeter, and a 205 W Class D stage for the midwoofer. The lute-shape wooden cabinet carries a custom-designed heatsink that keeps the amplifier cool without a fan.

Connectivity is deliberately complete. WiFi and Ethernet handle streaming through AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Roon Ready, and Qobuz. Bluetooth aptX HD is included for casual playback. HDMI eARC turns the pair into a two-channel television system that responds to the TV remote. An RCA phono input lets a turntable plug in directly. A sub output with automatic active-sub recognition pairs Duetto with a Gravis subwoofer as a full-range 2.1 system in one setup step.

The SENSO leather-top touch interface handles source selection and volume; the Sonus faber app handles everything else. Handcrafted in Vicenza. A complete active stereo system in two boxes and a power lead.
