Sonus faber Lumina I

Lumina I is the compact bookshelf loudspeaker of Sonus faber's Lumina Collection — the smallest and most affordable loudspeaker Sonus faber currently makes, engineered for desktops, small rooms, and secondary systems where anything larger would overwhelm the space. It was one of the three original Lumina models when the collection launched in September 2020, and it remains the loudspeaker most people meet the Sonus faber brand through.

The 2-way system pairs the 29 mm DAD (Damped Apex Dome) silk soft dome tweeter used across the entire Lumina range with a 120 mm paper-cone midwoofer developed specifically for this cabinet. The tweeter is the same Kurt Müller-manufactured driver that appears on the Sonetto series above it and on the Lumina Amator models — which is one of the reasons a Lumina I is a serious loudspeaker rather than an entry-level one. Crossover sits at 2,000 Hz through Sonus faber-branded high-quality capacitors.

The port is unusual: a front slot integrated into a fixed plinth beneath the cabinet, which vents the loudspeaker forward while keeping the visible baffle uninterrupted. That plinth-mounted port is what allows Lumina I to work against a rear wall, on a bookshelf, or on a desktop without losing bass control. Frequency response is 65 Hz to 24 kHz at 84 dB sensitivity into 4 ohms, with recommended amplification of 30 to 100 watts. Cabinet dimensions are 280 mm high by 148 mm wide by 213 mm deep, at 4.4 kilograms each. Available in Piano Black, Wenge or Walnut real-wood veneer with maple inlays and black leather wrap on the side and top surfaces.
