Sonus faber Arena 1

Arena 1 is the smallest architectural loudspeaker of Sonus faber's Arena Ci-Fi collection — a 3-way sealed-box design usable either in-wall or in-ceiling, engineered for private cinema rooms where cavity space is limited but Sonus faber-tier sound quality is a requirement. It is the correct surround, height, or rear-channel loudspeaker in an Arena-anchored cinema, and the correct front-stage loudspeaker for very small rooms where Arena 2 would overwhelm the space.

The driver complement is more elaborate than the small footprint suggests: four 5.25-inch paper-cone woofers with ferrite magnets handle bass and lower midrange, a separate 5.25-inch paper-cone midrange driver with a phase plug manages the midband and preserves off-axis clarity, and a 1.1-inch (28 mm) silk-dome tweeter with neodymium magnet covers the highs. The mid and low drivers use Sonus faber's non-symmetric basket geometry with the Camelia surround pattern — the same driver philosophy used on the Homage cabinet loudspeakers, scaled down for architectural application.

Frequency response reaches 77.7 Hz at the low end (–3 dB, on axis) extending to 40 kHz. Sensitivity is 89.5 dB into 4 ohms with 190 W power handling. Cabinet mounting depth is 100 mm — the standard wall cavity depth. Wood-and-aluminium sealed enclosure. Optional square magnetic grille. Handcrafted in Vicenza. The right architectural loudspeaker for tight cavities and multi-channel installations that need many surround positions without visual disruption.
