Product Details

Description

The McIntosh MT10 is McIntosh's flagship turntable — a belt-drive precision design with a 12-pound silicon-acrylic platter that spins on a magnetic bearing, presented in the unmistakable McIntosh industrial vocabulary of black glass and stainless steel. In an all-McIntosh vinyl chain, the MT10 is the natural analog source at the top of the line.

The engineering priorities are the ones any reference turntable is judged on. A precision DC motor with electronic speed control drives 33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM playback through a quiet belt that decouples motor vibration from the record surface. The magnetically suspended platter runs on a near-frictionless cushion of air — the same magnetic-bearing architecture Clearaudio developed for its own reference tables, executed on a plinth sized to match the McIntosh electronics on the rack. The custom dural-aluminum S-shaped tonearm is gimbaled in sapphire and ceramic bearings, and the included .5mV moving-coil cartridge arrives factory-configured for VTA, azimuth, anti-skate, and tracking force — plug-and-play as a working analog system.

In LMC's Tempe showroom, the MT10 is on demonstration as the analog front-end for the Il Cremonese vinyl chain driven by a pair of McIntosh MC2301 tube monoblocks — a purely McIntosh signal path from stylus to speaker, and the honest room to evaluate a McIntosh turntable against McIntosh vacuum-tube electronics rather than against an assembled boutique chain.

The MT10 pairs naturally with the MP1100 vacuum-tube phono preamplifier, which comes factory-pre-programmed with an MT10 loading profile. Available in Tempe on demo — walk in during business hours or book ahead.
