Product Details
The McIntosh MC257 is a 7-channel solid-state power amplifier for home theater systems — 250 watts per channel with 3 channels driven, or 200 watts per channel with all 7 channels driven. Same underlying architecture as the MC255 (5-channel) but with two additional surround-back or Atmos height channels for full 7.1 or 5.1.2 immersive systems.
McIntosh's Dynamic Power Manager technology intelligently reallocates power based on which channels are being driven during actual playback — ensuring the front channels get maximum power during dynamic peaks while the surround channels receive appropriate reserve power. The TripleView Power Output Meter displays real-time power consumption for all 7 channels simultaneously.
Power Guard, Sentry Monitor, Monogrammed Heatsinks. Balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs. Pairs naturally with the MX123 (13.2 channel A/V processor) for a full McIntosh 7.1 or 7.1.4 cinema system with additional Atmos or height channels handled by a supplementary amplifier. Available at LMC — walk in during business hours or book ahead.
