The McIntosh XRT1.1K is the accessible-tier line array floor standing loudspeaker — 70 drivers per speaker in the vertical line array, 1,200-watt power rating, and 14 inches shorter and 173 pounds lighter per pair than the XRT2.1K flagship. For rooms that cannot accommodate the flagship's physical presence, the XRT1.1K delivers the essential line array sonic character in a more moderate chassis.

The driver complement is four 6.5-inch woofers and two 6.5-inch low-frequency midranges in the bass enclosure, plus 24 two-inch upper-frequency midranges and 40 three-quarter-inch tweeters on the vertical line array. The woofers and low-frequency midrange drivers were originally designed for the XRT2.1K program and carried down to the XRT1.1K — meaning the fundamental low-end and midrange character trickles down directly from the flagship. Same 4-way ported design, tri-amp and tri-wire capable for the most demanding amplifier configurations.

Line array topology delivers the same benefits at the XRT1.1K's scale: controlled vertical dispersion, wide horizontal dispersion, larger sweet spot than a conventional point-source loudspeaker, and the acoustic authority typically associated with much larger reference speakers.
