McIntosh LCR80 Loudspeaker

The McIntosh LCR80 is a versatile sealed 3-way LCR loudspeaker — designed for Left, Center, or Right channel duty in a home theater system, with the flexibility to use three identical LCR80s across the entire front stage for perfect voicing continuity, or as a center channel paired with XR100 or ML1 Mk II front loudspeakers. Two 6-inch LD/HP poly-cone woofers, two 2-inch inverted-titanium-dome midranges, and a 0.75-inch titanium dome tweeter — the same tweeter used across the XR-series and ML1 Mk II for family voicing.

The rotatable high-frequency array is the placement-flexibility engineering that separates the LCR80 from most LCR speakers. The machined-alloy array housing the midranges and tweeter rotates in the cabinet, so the LCR80 can be oriented horizontally (typical center-channel position beneath a screen), vertically (as a slim left or right main), or shelf-mounted with the drivers correctly aligned for the listening position without sonic compromise. Locating the super tweeter between the two midranges creates a symmetrical polar response for improved imaging regardless of orientation.

Sealed design (as opposed to the ported XR-series) delivers tighter, more controlled bass response — particularly valuable for center-channel dialogue clarity or for cabinet-adjacent placement where a ported design's bass tuning would be compromised. 75 to 300 watts of power. Available in fine gloss wood: Black, Red Walnut, and Pear Maple. Complete mounting hardware included for all orientations.
