Ascendo The6 Coaxial Cinema Loudspeaker

The6 is the compact end of the Ascendo range and the one that makes the least sense on paper until you read the sensitivity. 93 dB at one watt with 200 watts of power handling produces 113 dB continuously from a cabinet 88 millimetres deep — which is why it works equally with a modest receiver and with amplification far beyond what its size suggests.

It is a time coherent coaxial point source in a vented, internally braced birch ply enclosure, with 90 by 90 degree directivity. In a large system its role is usually surrounds and ceilings; in a smaller room it is perfectly capable of the front three, paired with a subwoofer.

Three form factors share the driver and the voicing. On-wall is the standard, and an optional kit converts it to in-wall. Wedge 30 is pre-angled, for the positions where a loudspeaker has to be aimed and there is no bracket that will do it cleanly. Narrow is for the walls that will not give up the width. Black matt is standard, with custom piano lacquer in twelve layers available in any colour.
