The 101 E System

The 101 E MK II carries the Radialstrahler principle in a single pair of towers — the same omnidirectional radiation, the same room-filling image, at a scale that fits a listening room rather than requiring one built around it.

Amplification comes from Burmester rather than MBL: the 088 preamplifier and the 218 power amplifier, both hand-assembled in Berlin. Pairing one Berlin house's electronics with another's loudspeakers is the point of the exercise — the 101 E sounds materially different here than it does across the room on MBL's own Reference Line.
