Wilson Audio Alida CSC

Alida CSC is Wilson Audio's compact surface-mount loudspeaker — built for the most adverse conditions any Wilson product faces. Wall mounting strips a loudspeaker of nearly everything Wilson's floor-standers rely on: free placement, controlled boundaries, a cabinet sized to its drivers. The Alida CSC exists to deliver the timbral neutrality, dynamic response, soundstage depth, and transparency of a floor-standing Wilson from a position that usually forfeits all four.

The Convergent Synergy tweeter is the connective tissue — the same tweeter family that voices the rest of the line, so an Alida on the wall speaks with the same character as the Wilsons on the floor. And the low end reaches below 40 Hz, which is genuinely unusual for a surface-mount design and the reason an Alida can hold up its share of a serious array rather than leaning on the subwoofers for everything below the midrange.

The applications are the ones wall-mounting was made for: surround and height duty in Wilson theaters, immersive audio formats, and rooms where the architecture simply will not accept a floor-standing loudspeaker — without accepting a step down in voice.

The demonstration is Tempe's Room 5, where four Alida CSC form the surround field of an all-Wilson array — Sabrina V mains, WASAE centre — so that a sound crossing the room never changes character on the way. That consistency is the whole point of committing to one loudspeaker maker for every channel, and it is exactly the thing that cannot be conveyed on paper.
