Octave Jubilee Preamp SE

The Jubilee Preamp SE is the new reference of Octave preamplifiers — the direct successor to the Jubilee Preamplifier that has represented Octave's sonic pinnacle since 1998. Optimized in key sonic and technical aspects, subtly improved in detail, perfected in its user interface, and with an expanded feature set, the Jubilee Preamp SE takes the leadership position in Octave's technology hierarchy.

The core architecture of the original Jubilee Preamp remains: a precision tube-based balancing stage delivers a perfectly balanced signal to the power amplifiers; a discrete solid-state output stage provides extremely low output impedance (33 ohms) with very high current capability, allowing any power amplifier — even those with low input impedance down to 600 ohms — to be reliably driven via RCA or XLR at cable lengths up to 8 meters; the zero-feedback circuit design rewards the listener with unwavering stability and exceptional detail.

The SE-specific refinements: new 70µm copper circuit-board material from Matsushita in Japan (developed specifically for sensitive analog circuits); Vishay/Beyschlag professional film resistors in the analog section for exceptional long-term stability and low noise; and Epcos EU-manufactured professional electrolytic capacitors in the power supply with over a 20-year lifespan. Combined with newly designed input transformers (80 kΩ input impedance, 5 Hz – 150 kHz range, 0.005% THD) optimized for modern DACs with output up to 8V RMS, the result is a higher bandwidth with a 3 dB reduction in noise, translating to greater detail, depth, and composure in the reproduction.

4x 12AU7 Tung Sol tubes. External vacuum-encapsulated low-noise mains transformer in separate chassis. Standard Octave Power Management, Soft-Start Electronics, Gain Selector, Monitor/Record Output, serial HT Bypass, and Zero Feedback circuit. Available at LMC by appointment.
