Description

The Jubilee Mono Ultimate is Octave's flagship power amplifier and the direct successor to the Jubilee Mono SE (2016). Where the original Jubilee Mono (2000) delivered 250W with immense power reserves, and the Jubilee Mono SE (2016) advanced the design to 400W per channel via eight KT 120 tubes, the 2023 Ultimate takes another decade of development further — eight KT 170 tubes deliver 440W per channel, driven by a completely new output transformer that Octave founder Andreas Hofmann calls a 'super transformer.'

The Ultimate's central engineering thesis is the extreme expansion of power bandwidth and the bass range. This wide bandwidth extends into the seemingly inaudible frequency range but radiates into every other hearing band — the critical midrange in particular benefits significantly from a deep and precise bass foundation. To achieve this without the distortion increase that usually accompanies wider power bandwidth, Andreas Hofmann developed a completely new output transformer with speaker windings that more than double a normal design — increasing surface area by 50%. A special multi-wire winding technique counters the skin effect that typically degrades upper-frequency response. The result is virtually no distortion increase alongside 10 Hz – 100 kHz bandwidth.

Alongside the transformer breakthrough, the Ultimate uses four transformers total — the gigantic output transformer, a separate transformer for the power-tube heater, and a double line-transformer system for the power section. The heavily modified driver stage addresses exact phase relationships in push-pull operation, moving closer to the ideal 'No Loss of Fine Details — without Limits.' Standard Octave Power Management, Soft-Start Electronics, Protection System, Eco Mode, and BIAS Setting and Display.

Weight: 78 kg per monoblock. Silver or Black chassis with center trim in Slate, Blue Granite, Black Granite, Rainforest, or Wood Makassar. Available at LMC by appointment.
