Linn Klimax Exaktbox

The Klimax Exaktbox is Linn's reference-tier external Exakt DSP crossover - the component that enables passive Linn speakers (like the 360 PWAB) to operate in fully active Exakt configuration when driven by multiple channels of Klimax Solo amplifiers.

The Klimax Exaktbox sits between the Klimax DSM streaming source and the amplification. It receives the digital signal from the DSM via Exakt Link, applies the Exakt active crossover in the digital domain, performs driver-level time alignment, and outputs the individual driver signals to separate amplifier channels. This eliminates the passive crossover from the speaker and moves the crossover function into the digital domain - where phase errors and component tolerances can be controlled with precision no passive network can approach.

The current-generation Klimax Exaktbox ships with Linn's flagship Organik DAC architecture and the isolated Utopik power supply as standard - separate, self-regulating voltage rails are allocated to the analog and digital circuits, improving the performance of both. One Klimax Exaktbox upgrades a compatible two- or three-way speaker system; use one per speaker for four-, five-, or six-way models. Organik DAC and Utopik upgrades remain available for previous-generation Klimax Exaktbox units.
