The upper-mid tier of the Sondek LP12 program — higher-performance components at each mechanical stage, between the Selekt and Klimax builds.

Product Details

Description

The Akurate LP12 was the upper-mid tier of the Sondek LP12 program — sitting one step below the Klimax reference and above the Selekt LP12, with higher-performance components at each mechanical stage. For listeners whose priority was Sondek LP12 performance close to flagship level without paying full Klimax pricing, the Akurate LP12 was the specification Linn built for that tier.

The Akurate LP12 configuration typically included the Ekstatik MC cartridge, Ekos SE tonearm, Kore subchassis with Keel arm board, and Lingo LP12 power supply — components that in each position stepped closer to the Klimax specification without adopting every flagship element (notably, the Radikal motor control unit and Urika phono preamplifier remained Klimax-tier upgrades from Akurate).

The Akurate LP12 is no longer in current Linn production. The current Sondek LP12 range consists of Majik (entry), Selekt (mid-tier), and Klimax (reference), with the intermediate Akurate tier retired in favour of a more focused three-step upgrade path. Existing Akurate LP12 turntables remain fully supported and upgradeable through Linn’s Glasgow service operation.

For clients looking at the current mid-to-upper Sondek LP12 tier, the Selekt LP12 with a targeted Radikal or Keel SE upgrade path is the equivalent current specification. Walk in during business hours or book ahead at LMC for an audition of the current LP12 lineup.
