Description
Terra Prime is the movie server the Kaleidescape system is built around. Films, concerts and series download asynchronously from the Kaleidescape store and play back from local storage, which is what allows full fidelity regardless of what the connection is doing at the time.
Capacities run from modest to 120TB, with enterprise-class solid-state or hard disk storage depending on configuration. With properly specified 2.5-gigabit networking a high-bitrate 4K title downloads in as little as eight minutes. A full-size Terra Prime distributes up to ten simultaneous playback streams, which is what makes whole-house distribution practical rather than theoretical.
Up to four servers group into one system, and a movie library can be downloaded across up to five systems registered to the same account — the reason Terra Prime shows up in second homes as often as first ones. Assembled in the USA in a solar-powered factory.
