dCS Rossini Master Clock

The Rossini Master Clock is the timing refinement of the Rossini program — dCS's Grade 1 master clock scaled to the Rossini system, and the component that sets the technical ceiling for a Rossini APEX DAC or Player installation.

The problem it solves is jitter. Every digital-to-analogue conversion happens at an instant defined by a clock signal, and any imprecision in that instant smears the conversion in ways no downstream quality can recover. dCS's answer, developed across decades of studio and consumer clocking work, is a dedicated Grade 1 reference: a precise signal, distributed as Word Clock at every Rossini-supported sample rate, holding the entire digital chain in exact synchronization.

The audible return is the final increment of what the Rossini system does — improved imaging, focus, and presence. These are the qualities that separate a very good digital front end from one that stops sounding like a digital front end at all, and clocking is where they are won.
