Grade 1 master clocking at Lina scale — the reference signal for a Lina Network DAC or DAC X, in the compact Lina chassis. On demo in Tempe.

Product Details

Description

The Lina Master Clock brings dCS's Grade 1 master clocking to the Lina program — the same clocking discipline that completes Rossini and Vivaldi systems, in the compact Lina chassis, sized for the desks and shelves the Lina line is built to occupy.

The engineering case is identical at every scale dCS builds. Digital-to-analogue conversion happens at instants defined by a clock, and timing imprecision — jitter — degrades the conversion in ways nothing downstream can repair. A dedicated Grade 1 reference removes the variable: the Lina Master Clock generates a precise signal that holds the Lina Network DAC or DAC X in exact synchronization, and the audible return is the final measure of focus, dimensionality, and ease the Lina system is capable of.

That dCS builds this component at Lina scale at all says something about the program's intent. Compact product lines usually stop at the DAC; dCS carried the full reference architecture — converter, clock, dedicated amplification — into the small chassis because the Lina listener was never assumed to be a casual one.

The sequencing advice mirrors the larger systems: the Network DAC or DAC X comes first, and the Master Clock is the completing refinement once the rest of the system justifies it. As the third component of a full Lina stack it finishes the system technically and visually. Hear a clocked Lina system in Scottsdale — the comparison takes minutes and settles itself.
